2013 in books...

In 2013, a friend of mine and I started a Facebook group called 52 Pickup with the goal of reading (you guessed it) 52 NEW (to us) books throughout the year.  I'd say I had a successful year, even with not being able to concentrate on reading for about 6 weeks after my surgery.  We've  revived the group for 2014...I'll be sure to tell you all about it.

I love the mythology of vampires...this is a new and different take. No sparkles.

 
I'm loving my dystopian fiction this year...

   
I love these books...never quite know what to expect.

   
I started with an audiobook...interesting series. I kinda stalled out though.

Yup...I went there.

Brilliant, funny, insightful, and helpful.

I fell in love with Middle Earth after watching LOTR...I visit often.

I listened to this while going to the gym...and loved it.

 
We've all wondered what it would be like to never suffer emotionally...here it's illegal to feel.

 
She's taken the concept of reality TV to a whole new level...and I like it.

  
I love, love, love this trilogy.

LOVED this book.

I first heard about Grace O'Malley from Robin Maxwell...this was awesome to round out the story.

Insightful and well written.

I enjoyed this...I had to remind myself the narrator had suffered a TBI when he kept going over the same things over and over again...but I loved it.

Waiting for the next one now...


I listed to this as a full cast audiobook...and LOVED it! Absolutely incredible.

These books are SO much fun...waiting on the last one to come out later this year.

Even though they used adults to voice all the characters, I loved every second of it.

These aren't the vampires of Anne Rice or Twilight...I LOVE it.

I had so much fun listening to this.

I don't know how I missed this one until now...intriguing.
